The penant on this card is felt! Somehow, I suspect that Williamsport was never very "Dutchy", but that clearly didn't stop some local shop from ordering up this card with "Williamsport, PA" stamped on it. You have to love the cigar, too. This postcard was used in 1914. A few years later, this penant genre was adopted for postcards that girlfriends would send their boyfriend soldiers during World War I.
